Tennis Ireland and Club Update re Level 5 – 23.10.2020
Posted: October 23, 2020
Sport Ireland and the Expert Group advised Tennis Ireland last night that no tennis activity can take place in Level 5, with the exception of elite players and junior coaching for school aged children under 18 in pod systems under the supervision of a coach.

We are pleased that junior coaching can continue in line with other sports.

Unfortunately this means the courts are now closed for all other play which includes singles and all doubles (including household) until further notice.

While we are hugely disappointed with this update, the Executive Committee feels we have no option but to follow these guidelines.

Junior Coaching will take place today, some catch up classes will be re-arranged for missed days by the coaches and the Coaching Term will then continue for 6 weeks after the midterm break – w/c 2nd November 2020.

Those in the Junior Coaching Programme will be contacted directly in relation to this.

We will continue to keep you informed of any Tennis Ireland updates, but for now we ask for your co-operation and compliance on this and to follow the Government and HSE Guidelines so we can move out of Level 5 as soon as possible.
